Hack me? I don't think so.

Ever heard of Gaia online? Well...

I made my account some 361 days ago, but my active days started at the 280th or somewhere close to that...

But that's not what I'm gonna talk to you about right now. Just about an hour ago, while I was minding my own gaia business, some random dude sent me a PM saying that I was suspected of hacking. It then said that in order to clarify, justify and verify that I indeed am the real owner of my account, reply with my account information, and I was given 14 minutes.

I was panicked. I let a close friend (whom I know personally) hang on to my stuff while I clarify things here. Whether or not it was a real staff member, I was in fear of being hacked. Who knows what method they'd use.

But anyway, at first, I was like "say what? Me? What did I do?" but after I slapped myself back to reality, I studied the PM carefully.

For one, the avatar was anonymous. It was colored black and I was unable to see his avatar. Another was the username--"systemshutttdown". I'm like, what the heck is up with the three t's?

And then it hit me. Admins and mods never ask for our account information via pm or e-mail!

It was a DIRTY trick.

That said, I filed a report (and miserably used the wrong form...What do you expect it's my first time and I'm half-panicked) and I'm currently waiting for a response. I'll probably get my stuff back the day after tomorrow.

Sooo for all the victims of hacking...

Don't go thinking they can get away with it. I swear they'll get what's coming to them. They may wreak as much havoc as they like now but I guarantee that one day, they're gonna regret what they did. Let em laugh as much as they like, but we'll see who'll be laughing in the end.
