Voice Acting

Some time ago Ayame recoreded her voice while she was reciting a speech. That reminded me of voice acting... Voice acting is something I really am interested in, as well as something I'd like to try out. Tempted by the moment, I asked her if I could try voice acting a line she made...
The character I voiced out was talking about her history; how her parents died in a war, and how she lived alone because of that... At first I thought I did pretty good, but when we listened to the recording I was so disappointed... I sounded dead! It's as if I was merely saying the lines or reading a book... That's when I realized the difficulty of voice acting.
It's definitely not easy. In order to deliver lines perfectly, you have to think of how you'd feel if you were in the character's shoes. It sounds easy, but it's really not. It's not just about delivery; it's the emotion. It's surprisingly easy to tell if you're showing emotion or not. There's just something in the way you talk or the way you deliver it that gives it away... Giving life to a character's words is not an easy job.
I salute the different voice actors. Their job is definitely hard.
