ECNAD!

Phew! Well if you're observant enough, "ECNAD" is "DANCE" if you read it backwards. Obviously, it's all about dancing! Hehe. This was used to celebrate the math month...I remember coz I was one of the hosts for the program last year. Basically you have to dance to a song the teachers choose. Last year each year level had one song, but two different groups will dance. Example, the sophomores' song was "Bad" by Michael Jackson. The first group of sohpies will dance half of the song, and the second group will dance the other half. Last year, all the year levels' songs were from Michael Jackson. 1st year-"Beat it", 2nd year-"Bad", 3rd and 4th year-"Smooth Criminal"...For the 3rd and 4th year, it was different... The first group were Seniors and the next group were juniors. I think there was another song, but I forgot what it was...Oh wait! now I remember...It was "Billie Jean". The order was still the same--the first group were seniors and the next group were juniors. Now, how are these related to math, you ask? I dunno either. But they DID require a signature move that had something to do with math (hint: forming the plus, minus, division and multiplication signs with your hands)... The winners were the Senior Group of the song "Smooth Criminal". Hehe, I happen to know some of em personally! So I'm proud of em.

Hm, there are a lot of privileges of being part of ECNAD. One is, you're exempted from classes, and you get plus points even if you wont win (but of course the winners receive higher points). The downside is that you have to practice for hours... I remember last year the winners used to practice until 7:30 in the evening... It was intense. The school was nearly deserted but they still practiced. I said to myself, "man, I hope their efforts wont come to waste..." and it didnt..Heh.

Being an MC was pretty tough. It was my first time being a host for a program like that. Hehe. My other co-hosts were both boys, and they were also fluent in speaking english. Whenever we practiced, we would just sit somewhere and chat. Hehe, of course we still rehearsed a bit, but most of the time we would just chat. When the big event came, we were kinda disorganized... We had a LOT of papers, and they weren't organized. That's because we asked the groups to write down in a piece of paper their group name and the description of their signature move. Our job was to tell the audience when they executed the signature move... That was easy. Not! Well, not if you were disorganized like we were. Hehe, anyway, all went well, and in the end, we (as hosts) did pretty much okay. If ever I'll be a host this year, then I swear it'll be way better than last year! Hehe. Well, that's about all...

notes:
  • Many of my buddies joined the competition This year. Interesting! I'll be cheering for you guys.
  • I hope all will go well again this year. The big day is this Friday, so it's putting pressure on my pals.
  • I cant wait for this Friday! Aside from watching them, we dont have classes either! Hurrah!
