Best friends

Best friend... People consider this kind of person the best pal they've ever had. This pal is considered the closest friend ever. Whenever someone has a problem, the best friend is always one of the first ones they go to. I think this is what most people consider the qualities of a best friend: Always there for you, always ready to help you, always listening to your problems, always the person whom you go around with, always the person who you talk to, etc... But you know what? I think the word 'best friend' is just a label. And nowadays, some people treat it as a "sacred"* title. I think "best friend" isnt just a label to be passed around... A true best friend is defined by the heart, nothing else. Truth be told, many people miss the most important qualities of a best friend: God-fearing, Letting God be the center of the friendship, etc. In short, a true best friend keeps the other from sinning against God. I wouldnt call someone a best friend if all s/he does is lead me to sin. The worst thing that could happen is if someone gets disconnected* from God because of the so-called "best friend", and then they'd both end up in hell because of that. Doesnt that make sense??
You know what, I dont even call my closest friends "best friends". As I said, it's defined by the heart. If you already feel that you are, why say it? It'll probably cause confusions in the future. By confusions, I mean matters like favoritism, etc. God treats everyone in the same special way anyway, right? =)

• Sacred- I dont really mean sacred as in holy...I mean they treat it as if it's a really important title.
• Disconnected- People who lost their Faith; People who are side-tracked (I defined this word in one of my earlier posts.)
• I aint saying you shouldn't name anyone your best friend anymore, I mean even David (Bible) had a bestfriend. I was just stating my opinion.=) Of course it's still okay to name someone your bestfriend.
• Note that I never said anything was wrong. This is what I think, my own opinion, actually. =D
